Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation

This agency has pledged in the Rolland Settlement to move 640 retarded individuals from nursing homes and it included most Seven Hills Pediatric Center over-18 patients on its moving list. Please ask them why they put these individuals on their moving list despite their doctors’ judgments that this poses a risk to them.

Center for Public Representation

This organization’s attorneys have taken the lead in the Rolland suit and have opposed the efforts of the Seven Hills Pediatric Center residents and their families to be left out of the Rolland plaintiff class.

Disability Law Center

This organization’s attorneys also support the Rolland Suit and oppose Seven Hills Pediatric Center residents’ and families’ efforts at decertification.

Massachusetts Association for Retarded Citizens

This organization does good work on behalf of the higher-functioning retarded. Please ask them why they are supporting the CPR and DLC’s efforts against the wishes of Seven Hills Pediatric Center families.

Rolland Court Monitor

The official overseeing implementation of the Rolland suit settlements on behalf of the federal court system has a web site that contains important historical and other documents. Please remember that the Groton families object to the inclusion of their loved ones in the Rolland suit and the agreements imposed on them by it, so they suggest that the court monitor's statements be treated with caution.
